A RISING darts star from Stafford is set to mingle with the best in the world after qualifying for the Winmau Junior World Masters Darts tournament in Hull on October 10 and 11.
Daniel Key, aged 15, who attends Sir Graham Balfour School and plays for St George’s B in the Stafford Darts League qualified for the tournament after hitting the sixth best average overall in the country for his age whilst playing for Staffordshire Youth.
The Junior World Maters will be his biggest tournament after representing Staffordshire Youth this season and winning all his matches for the North of England in a Friendship international event in May.
Darts runs in the Key family and Daniel started playing at two years-old and aims to make it to the top of the sport.
The junior tournament runs alongside the BDO senior event so the youngsters will get to meet and use the same practice boards as some of the star players including Ted Hankey, Andy Fordham and Mervyn King.
