DEMOLITION has started in Stafford to pave the way for the £70million Riverside shopping complex.

The development, due to open in 2016, will consist of 18 shops including a Debenhams, a Marks and Spencer and a six screen cinema, expected to be located on the site of the old Chicago Rock building.

Stafford Borough Council made a £750,000 contribution to the multi-million pound development

A spokesman for Property investor LXB , who are responsible for the development, said they were hoping to hold a public exhibition to show off their plans in the coming weeks.
