Elderly man dies after car collides with house near Stafford

AN ELDERLY man has died after his car collided with a house in a village near Stafford.

The Green at Brocton remains closed this afternoon, following the crash at around 11am. The 94-year-old man, who was driving a silver Jaguar, was from the Brocton area.

Police, paramedics and fire crews attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: ““Crews arrived to find a car that had been in collision with a house.

“The driver was found to be in cardiac arrest. Full resuscitation attempts were carried out at the scene but unfortunately, despite best efforts of ambulance crews, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased at the scene.”

A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said the man's family has been informed and a specially trained officer is offering support.

Formal identification has not yet taken place. The road remains closed while specialist officers carry out an investigation.

Witnesses are urged to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident 199 of February 17.
