A LOCAL showjumper has won a place at the Longines Royal International Horse Show this summer.

Stephanie Scott, aged 38, from Eccleshall, on her own six-year-old grey gelding, Opis Day took a qualifying spot in the SEIB Winter Novice Championship qualifier, held at Arena UK in Grantham.

The class proved to be well contested and with just two qualifying places available for the SEIB competition, she produced a superb performance.

Competition for the desired double clear was fierce and Scott and three others managed to achieve the target
