Rugeley police witness appeal after man injured in glassing attack

POLICE have renewed their appeal for witnesses to a Rugeley pub fight in which a man was badly injured after being hit in the face with a glass.

The attack happened in the Glassworks pub in Rugeley on Friday May 23.

The incident happened at around 11.30pm on the dance floor and involved around 15 to 20 people.

During the fight a 27-year-old man from Rugeley was assaulted with a glass and suffered “significant” facial injuries that needed hospital treatment.

As part of the investigation, a 38-year-old man from Rugeley and a 22-year-old man from Cheslyn Hay were arrested on May 10 and remain on police bail pending further enquiries.

“A number of people helped the victim when he was injured and we want to hear from anyone who may have seen something,” a police spokeswoman said.
