TWO men on a motorbike attacked a security guard and stole cash from a Stafford petrol station in broad daylight on Saturday.

The robbery took place at around 1.30pm on the forecourt of the Esso petrol station on Lammascote Road in Stafford.

The two men arrived on a Honda 500 CB motorbike registration BX51 MFU, before one of the men, believed to be the passenger, attacked a security guard and stole a quantity of cash.

The man is described as white, aged in his twenties and wearing a black coat, black tracksuit bottoms with a white stripe, trainers and a black full-face motorbike helmet with a distinctive oval logo on the back.

The motorbike’s rider was wearing a grey coat and a dark-coloured full-face helmet.

The security guard, who wasn’t harmed in the incident was badly shaken.

The two men then left the scene before dumping the bike, which was later found off Riverway on the car park of the cricket and hockey club opposite the White Eagle Polish Club.

The bike was also seen near the Hough Retail Park at about 1.15pm prior to the robbery.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw a silver and red Mitsubishi Shogun which drove through a red light on Riverway and turned left onto the A34 towards Cannock driven by a white man with a shaved head and with two other men inside and are urging anyone with any information to call 101 quoting serial reference 397.
