FOLLOWING their success in the North Staffs League, Cannock and Stafford's senior men switched their attention to the Birmingham cross country league this week.

They are hoping to secure promotion to the top flight next year and a brilliant performance on the day gave them victory which lifted them up to second place overall.

Chris Perrin again was the leading athlete for the club, taking an excellent second place on the day to keep in second place overall. Always in the leading group he broke away from the pack with a Gloucester athlete who just got the better of him.

Twin brother James Perrin took a splendid eighth place and there was good backing from Craig Pearson 13th, Mitchell Blundell 38th, James McCann 39th, Aaron Brown 45th, James Lake 64th, Aidan McCormack 82nd and Jamie Graham 201st. The next round will be in Coventry on the January 18.
