SHOPPERS and staff at a Stafford supermarket have raised a record-breaking £10,300 for charity.

The cash was raised during 2013 when the town's Asda store collected donations. There was also a sponsored bike ride and sponsored walks.

Their efforts attracted a community award for outstanding work with groups, schools and charities from the Asda Foundation which was presented to community life champion Daniel Roberts at the House of Commons.

Funds went to the company's national charity Tickled Pink, which raises money for Breast Cancer Care.
