THOUSANDS of visitors are set to flock to Eccleshall today for a feast of fun and activity.
The 67th Eccleshall Show gets under way at 10.30am at the Parks showground at Sugnall, just off the B5026. There will be a free shuttle bus running throughout the day to and from the village centre.
Main ring attractions at this year’s show are set to include a jousting display from Knights of the Damned, tug of war, dog agility and gundog displays and children’s sports.
There will also be a pet show, classic vehicle display and equestrian, horticulture and craft competitions.
Peter Jones from Eccleshall Show Society said: “The equestrian show this year includes some 43 classes for entrants to take part in.
“There are over 100 classes in the horticultural and craft show - something for everyone from decorated papier mache balloons to dwarf French beans.
“The show will also include trade and charity stalls, a ferret display, rural crafts, Punch and Judy, a food hall, brass band, companion dog show, antique stand, ferris wheel, homemade refreshments, poultry display, bouncy castle and licensed bar.”
