MEMBERS of Manor Golf Club at Kingstone have experienced a busy spell of action and it was a successful one in particular, for Anthony Smith.
He emerged winner of the Greenkeepers’ Tro- phy competition with a stableford score of 38, edging out runner-up Brian O’Reilly who fin- ished with the same points return.
Smith also finished runner-up in the Richard Lawrence Bathew trophy and Summer Cup com- petitions.
In the former event, overall success went to Albert Traversari with a net 66, Smith one shot down. The margin was the same in the Summer Cup, with Bob Parker taking top honours with a net 67, from Smith (68). The latest Stableford League competition at the Manor resulted in victory for Bill Botten with a score of 49 points. In second place was John Newman with 45.
President’s day at the Manor resulted in vic- tory for Michael Johnson with a stableford score of 44 points, one ahead of runner-up Michael Evans.
Teams of four contested the club’s Texas Scram- ble at the beginning of this month with success going to the quartet of J Hooton, M Dyche, P Prince and A Burnett. In second place was the team of A Loach, B Woodward, P Ratcliffe and R Corbett.
