STAFFORD folk woke to a flurry of snow this morning as extreme weather conditions continued to hit the town.

After several weeks of heavy rainfall and rising levels around the county town’s waterways residents were surprised to look out of their windows and see snow coming down in thick flakes and starting to settle.

Opinion was clearly divided by our followers on Twitter as to whether the weather was a good thing.

Gem Gem (@gem22) tweeted: “NOOOOO! #hatesnow #m6nightmare #apparentlyitsnotheretostay.”

Davie Marshall (@DavieMarshall) tweeted: “Please no! After yesterday's electrical issues and this mornings bridge strike at Rugeley I can't cope with any more rail chaos!”

But Josie George (@porridgebrain) was a little more positive.

“Too wet, I reckon,” she tweeted. “I've still done a little, excited snow dance though.”

Ros Clarke was pleased to see some of the white stuff too tweeting she would ‘be happy if it stays like this.’

Keep sending us your snaps while the snow is still here to see and we’ll build a gallery of pics here and use the best ones in the paper.
