Third loss in four for Boro as they leak late goals
MARINE 3 STAFFORD RANGERS 1

TWO late goals from Nick Rogan condemned Stafford Rangers to their third defeat in four, on Merseyside, on Tuesday night.
Rangers made three changes from the side defeated by North Ferriby at Marston Road, Peter Heler, Ryan Brown and Dean Oliver coming in to the starting line-up for Michael Carr, Courtney Pitt and Danny Quinn.
High-flying Marine started on the front foot when Rogan shot straight at Adam Alcock.
Rangers’ first foray into the Marine danger zone had a dramatic affect on the game.
Oliver combined with Simon Everall, and when the he was pulled back by Matty Brown, the referee had no hesitation in showing the Marine skipper a red card for denying a goal-scoring opportunity.
As Marine regouped, Oliver forced a save from Callum Williams.
The lively Andy Fowler saw his shot deflected for a corner before a free-kick from Brown ricocheted off the Marine defensive wall and skimmed the post.
The home side broke the deadlock two minutes before the interval. A corner from Fowler was headed goalwards by Danny Grannon. Rangers cleared the ball off the line but could not stop the rebound being lashed home by Alan Burton.
However, Rangers should have drawn level a minute into time added on but Oliver missed the target with his header from inside the six-yard box.
Rangers were forced into a change at the break with Oliver suffering a serious injury, Quinn taking his place.
Marine should have doubled their lead 20 seconds into the half. Fowler raced clear down the right and his low cross was clipped over the bar by Marcus Carver.
Rangers drew level after 51 minutes with Quinn heading home an excellent cross from Jimmy Turner.
Skipper Lee Downes was unfortunate on 66 minutes when his low shot hit the outside of a post.
Rangers found themselves down to ten men a minute later when Levi Reid was shown a red card following an altercation with John Shaw.
This spurred Marine forward and Burton should have done better when well placed after good work from Karl Noon.
Marine regained the lead in the 85th minute when Rogan beat Heler on the left, cut inside and thumped a right footed drive across Alcock and in off the far post.
The three points were clinched two minutes later when Rogan beat Alcock from close range.

LEAGUE leaders North Ferriby returned to Humberside with all three points after a tight game at Marston Road on Saturday.

Rangers started the brighter with Courtney Pitt delivering testing crosses from the left flank. The home side went close in the 11th minute when Steve Gardner cleared a Danny Quinn effort off the line.

Nathan Peat crossed from the left to the unmarked Liam King. The midfielder’s header rebounded off a post, however Russell Fry was on hand to tap in the loose ball.
Rangers struggled to make any impression and the visitors had a chance to double their lead when a cross from Ryan Williams was headed over by Mark Gray. On the stroke of half-time, Ryan Dicker sent an overhead kick over the bar Two minutes after the break, Levi Reid managed to find space in the North Ferriby penalty area but he was thwarted by a saving tackle from Gray.
