PAUL Broadhurst continued his love affair with Brocton Golf Club in Friday’s annual pro-am.

Broadhurst won the pro medal for the third time in four years with a 65 (-4).
Another Ryder Cup player, Peter Baker was second with a score of 67.
Last year’s runner-up in the team event went one better this year and took the title with a score of -15. The winning trio of Alan Birch, Phil Birch and Alan Kinvig won by three shots.
A total of 40 teams contested the proceedings, on a day when some of the leading Midland professionals brought along their members.
This year’s competition was held in aid of The Meningitis Trust and Birmingham Children’s Hospital, who benefited from the efforts of all the players and the many sponsors.
