A YOUNG football team is seeking more player recruits for their Sunday side.
Stafford Town under-16s train once a week on Rowley Park’s 3G pitch and operate in the Potteries Junior Youth League.
The team is run by Staffordshire Schools FA county coach David Ebberson and any youngsters interested in joining the squad should call him on 07845 047127.
In a first round league cup fixture, Stafford Town Panthers under-11s went down 3-0 to Brewood Juniors.
The Panthers were slow off the mark, after going two months without a match, and by the break were already trailing by three goals.
Saul Hickey went close for the Panthers in the first period, but his effort was well saved.
The Panthers continued to battle in the second half and a goal-line clearance denied them pulling back at least one goal.
Man of the match awards went to Noah Stubbs and Jack Harrison.
