MANY of our fans will have seen the regular faces of charity collectors at Marston Road - something the club are keen to continue support throughout this season, writes Stuart Maun.
Although all local and national charities do fantastic jobs, we are obviously unable to support them all - but we are proud to support and commit to a handful of local and national charities.
The Samaritans, Headway, Lupus and Katharine House Hospice have already benefitted from collections this season at the Boro.
The generosity of the Rangers faithful and the visiting fans nets the charities some much needed cash to help with their wonderful fund-raising activities.
The social club has also played host to a number of events for charitable causes. Most recently, one of Rangers' sponsors (Stafford based Francesco Group) utilised the large Lotus Suite in the Social Club for a “Gig Evening” that raised over £1,300 for charity.
The club is also planning a wonderful Christmas Bonanza Event on December 1 - an event co-arranged with Gemma Wiles from Randles (Newport Road, Stafford), and Kelly Day from Katharine House Hospice.
The daytime event will have everything you will need to finish off your Christmas with fantastic stalls offering lots of brilliant ideas for festive gifts, all under one roof.
The event runs from 11am-4pm and
entrance fee is only £2 per adult. Refreshments and a fully licensed bar will be available - so perhaps we can tempt you to come along, look around and finish the afternoon with a festive mulled wine!?
We appreciate that times are tough, and currently funds are tighter for everyone, but we know how any donations can make a dramatic difference to lives in the town. If you can support any charity events at the club, or spare some loose change next time you're at a game at Marston Road to drop it in to the buckets, then all donations are greatly received by our charity partners, and we all know how even little amounts can help make a difference.
