MEMBERS of Walton Chasers Orienteering Club headed to Stoke on Trent for the fourth West Midlands League event of the year.

The meeting was centred around Bathpool Park and Birchenwood, the two areas being connected by some road running.
Recent rain had left the slopes muddy and slippery making it difficult to keep your footing in places.
Despite that, some fast times were put in by Chasers, including June Cairns- Smith in 3rd place on the 1.9 km yellow course.
Charlotte Cairns-Smith was fifth on the 2.2 km orange course, with Chris Boycott second on the 2.6 km short green circuit.
Fifth spot was secured by Ian Turner on the 3.8 km green course, while on the 7.6 km blue course, Andy Yeates was fifth and Ray Collins tenth.
There was a second place for Bob Dredge who took in the 9.1 km brown course.
Walton Chasers winter training is now each Tuesday at 7pm from Walton High School, Stafford, with new participants always welcome. See www.waltonchasers.co.uk for details.
