Hospice to benefit from charity mixed golf day

Written byDave McLean

A STAFFORD hospice is calling on local golfers to support the “Swing Fore Katharine” event.

Registration for the Katharine House Hospice (KHH) charity mixed golf day on Tuesday, June 18 is now open.

The event takes place at Brocton Hall Golf Club and promises a challenging day of golf with the added benefit of raising funds for a vital local cause.

“Last year’s event was close to a sell-out and we hope that it will be as popular this year and so are encouraging people to register as soon as possible,” said event fund- raiser James Lunney.

“Our golf days are always very popular as they allow people to enjoy themselves whilst raising vital funds for the Hospice.

“After the excesses of the party season, what better way of getting back in to the swing of things by registering for a great day’s golf?

“With the event taking place in June there is plenty of time to practise if your game is a little rusty!”

Prizes will be awarded for first to fifth place and the event has an entry fee of £30 per person, which includes a bacon sandwich.

For £50 you can also enjoy a four-course evening meal and entertainment from a guest speaker as well.

“At only £30-£50 per person it promises to be a wonderful day for golfers of all levels and ability, in stunning surroundings.

“We would suggest that interested golfers register now to ensure their place on the dayasthereissuretobea high demand.”

Swing Fore Katharine is once again being generously supported by Pickering and Butters Solicitors, Milford Hall Cricket Club and Western Power Distribution, whose backing ensures the maximum funds can be raised for the Hospice.

Local businesses also have the opportunity to put their company on course by sponsoring a hole for £100.

Those wishing to sponsor a hole can provide graphics and company literature to display near the tee and in the event programme.

Interested golfers or corporate sponsors can contact James on 01785 270808 for more information.
