IN the final round of matches before the half-term break, Stafford Ladies emerged 38-16 winners over Junior Saints, in the Stafford and District Netball League division one.

There was a fast pace to the game and the Ladies capitalised on the precision shooting of player of the match Lucinda Rushton (GA).
However, Saints fought back with great defensive work from the partnership of their star player, Tarnya Grigg (GD) and Sarah Lakin (GK).
In the second half the Ladies continued to extend the lead and ran out\ worthy winners.
Also on the victory trail were Kingfisher Gems as they saw off the challenge of Bluebelles A 45-32. The Belles lead at the end of the first quarter, before Gems hit back with excellent work from Helen Woollaston (GA). Lauren Allcock (GD) impressed for the Belles.
Good defensive work enabled Stafford Sapphires to move ahead against Touchstone Lighting. But Touchstone turned the tables in the second quarter and eventually emerged 29-21 winners.
In division two, both Stafford Rubies and Emeralds demonstrated good attacking and defensive strengths, as the latter ran out 19-10 victors.
Angela Scarrett excelled for the All Stars who got the better of Deevas 33- 15, while Laura James led the way for Spittal Brook in a 36-12 success over Saints.
