STAFFORD A snooker team opened their campaign in the Staffs and West Midlands Inter-Town knockout with a resounding 6-1 win over their own B side.
Andy Prendergast gave the A team an early shock by putting the B squad 1-0 up with an emphatic win, at the Constitutional Club.
However, Mick Fox levelled and from then on it was one-way traffic as Lee Walker, Chris Ward, Rob Wharne, Pete Fabre and Richard Spencer secured victory for the A team.
Stafford A will be looking to go one better in the competition this season after finishing runners-up in 2012. The draw for the next round has yet to be made.
