THE junior section of Brocton Hall Golf Club continues to go from strength to strength.
At their annual presentation, thanks went to the junior organiser, Christine Davies, the support of mums and dads, the golf professional team of Nevil Bland and Jon Watts and club officers.
The season of 2012 saw Brocton Hall attract 16 new junior members and the turnout for the presentation was exceptional.
Leading the way on the junior front was Mike Dewsbury who returned several outstanding achievements during the year. Not only did he claim success in club competitions, he now holds the men’s course record for Brocton at 65.
Dewsbury ended 2012 with a superb victory in the Andalucía Junior European Open Championship in Spain which he won by nine shots. It was the third successive year he had qualified for the finals.
Members at Brocton Hall collect monies throughout the year for the captain’s nominated charity.
In 2012 a total £3,046 was raised for The Salvation Army and our picture shows the presentation of the cheque to Catherine Wallis, divisional director for Business Administration, West Midlands.
She is pictured receiving the cheque from club captain Mike Pascoe (right) and said it would go towards the Youth Sum- mer Camp.
