A YOUNG star of Stafford Rugby Club has received a Midland call.
He was selected after the final trial at Leicester Grammar School before Christmas and will return there for a training weekend on January 26 and 27.
The Midlands face London and South East at Broadstreet in the Divisional Festival on February 3.
Venables, a student at Denstone College, is captain of Staffordshire u16s and began his playing career with Stafford juniors at the age of ten.
He has represented Staffs in four county age group championships and more recently was selected for Leicester Tigers’ Elite Player Development Group, turning out for the Premiership club’s u15 side.
Venables, who made three appearances for Staffs u15s, is now a regular member of Denstone College’s under-18 team and is currently their top scorer.
