New manager for the Eagles

Written byDave Mclean

NORTH West Counties outfit Eccleshall appointed a new management team this week.

Dean Sibson, who was previously in charge at Congleton Town and Stone Dominoes, is the new man at the helm, assisted by former Eagles player John Mayer.

In October, Liam James, the club’s former Staffs Senior team boss, took on the role as caretaker boss at Pershall Park and steadied the ship.

However, the club moved quickly to appoint a new manager after James announced he was unable to take on the job permanently for family reasons.

“We are grateful for the work Liam has put in since stepping in to the caretaker role. After a rocky start to the season in terms of league results he had begun to turn things around,” said chairman Andy Mapperson.

“We wish Dean and John well and feel sure that their experience at this level will help take the club forward.”
