A PENKRIDGE youngster will be out to put Staffordshire on the map in her first year as a senior in the sport of figure skating.

Darcy-Adele Lloyd, 19, who has skated since she was five, has been accepted into the British Championships (senior ladies) at Sheffield later this month.
Darcy-Adele (pictured above) trains at Solihull and Telford rinks and is coached by Jacquie Lloyd, who has guided Darcy- Adele to medals in open competition, from beginner to level 10, England representation in the Home Counties International and now the British Figure Championships. The skater also receives tuition from advanced coach Anne Crompton-Turner.
The former Wolgarston High student is the first Telford figure skater in around 20 years to make the senior championships.
“I’ve reached this level after a lot of early mornings, hard work and good coaching,” said Darcy-Adele. “I just want to skate my best.”
