Rangers match called off due to frozen pitch

Written byDave McLean

STAFFORD Rangers' match at Stocksbridge Park Steels on Saturday (Feb 23) has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

It is the second time this season that this fixture has been called off. Rangers next game is at home to Witton Albion on Tuesday (7.45pm), followed by a home match against fourth place Marine on March 2 (3pm).

Rangers boss Greg Clowes has made his third signing in a week by capturing midfielder Christian Smith.

The former Wrexham, Chester and Nantwich player joins the Marston Road ranks just days after former on-loan winger Luke Bottomer returned, as did another ex-Boro man, Chris Flynn from Nantwich.

All three are expected to be included in the squad for the midweek home match against Witton.
