STAFFORD Town pulled off a memorable giant killing victory this week to progress in the FA Vase.

The Reds visited Midland Alliance outfit Coleshill Town and pulled off a superb 3- 2 success, the winner coming in injury time.
Stafford, who now entertain another Midland Alliance side, Tipton Town in the second qualifying round on September 15, grabbed a tenth minute lead when Francis Dacres’ shot from the edge of the box found the net.
Coleshill levelled within three minutes through Keenah Rosser, before the Reds regained the lead on 42 minutes with a well taken effort from Spencer Gunnell.
The home side pushed Stafford back at the start of the second period and levelled for a second time when Angus Dior netted.
Coleshill were now on top and missed two golden chances. Stafford weathered the storm and regained control, eventually grabbing a winner in the third minute of stoppage time when the home defence hesitated and Gunnell nipped in to score.
The Reds join Eccleshall in the second stage, the Pershall Park side having been drawn away to Stratford Town.
Stafford Town ladies opened their season with a crushing 14-0 win over Leek, with Tash Hughes hitting five goals.
