RIVERWAY kept up their good form with a fine 3-2 away win over Whittington in the Staffs FA Vase.

Riverway, who won the competition seven years ago, pressed from the start and opened the scoring on 12 minutes when Earl Grant headed home a Matt Rhodes corner.
Ten minutes later, Riverway doubled the lead when Chris Jones’ excellent through ball found Thomas Duffy, who finished sublimely.
Before the break, Riverway had two goals ruled out and found the home keeper in tremendous form.
After the interval, Riverway continued to press, but Whittington caught them on the counter and cut the deficit. Not long after, Duffy struck again to restore Riverway’s two-goal advantage.
In the dying minutes Whittington netted a second goal, but Riverway advance to the third round. On Saturday, Riverway host Mahal, at Rowley Park.
