Saints and Voyagers set pace

GROUP stages of the Stafford Table Tennis Handicap Cup competition are reaching the halfway stage.

Setting the pace in group A are St Leonards E and Weston Voyagers. To date the Saints have defeated County Officers B 8-1 and Weston Quasars 5-4. The Voyagers have got the better of first division Burton Manor Marauders 6-3 and the Quasars 5-4.

In group B both St Leonards A and Stone B are unbeaten so far. The Saints victories came against County Officers A 8-1 and Weston Pioneers 6-3 while Stone beat County Officers D 8-1 and County Officers A 7-2.

St Leonards B have won two out of three in group C beating County Officers C 6-3 and Burntwood Community 5-4 before going down 9-0 to St Leonards C. In the only other fixture played in this group Saints C lost 6-3 to St Leonards Bullets.

The final group features six teams and at this stage Bradley House are undefeated Also unbeaten are St Leonards Villains with victories against Walton Eclipse, the Defenders and St Leonards D. Officers E lost to Saints D and the Defenders.
