LEADERS Stafford Ladies found themselves on the receiving end in their latest Stafford Netball League fixture.

Player of the match, Lucie Munday (GA) excelled for the Saints, although the addition of a sixth Ladies player brought the scores closer.
The final half saw some fantastic play with good attacking by Sue Lawton (C) of the Ladies, but Saints held out to claim a 29-25 win.
Staying with the top flight and Touchstone Lighting ran out 40-23 winners over Sapphires. Top match awards went to Emma Bickerton (Sapphires) and Sue Lawton (C) of Touchstone.
Kingfisher Gems were in winning form, running out
43-27 victors over Bluebelles A. The Gems capitalised on the Belles mistakes to take the spoils.
In division two, Emeralds sneaked home 22-21 against Stafford Rubies, in what was often a physical encounter.
Laura James excelled for Spittal Brook as they ran out worthy 42-21 winners against Saints, who were only able to field six players. Best for the Saints was Jenny Cantrill.
In the final match of the week, All Stars pulled off a comfortable 31-8 success against a six-strong Deevas team.
Although the Deevas led 5-4 at the end of the first quarter, All Stars raised their game and took a 13-5 advantage by the close of the second quarter, going on to take the spoils, with Rebecca Whitehouse the star.
