STAFFORD Gymnastics Club has continued its medal- winning success by winning two more at a national competition.
Emily Acton, aged 12 and Lucy Wheeler (nine) took bronze with a fantastic score of 25.40 out of a possible 30.00, at the Yate International Inter-Club competition.
Head coach of the Stafford Gym Centre, Emma Hunt said: “The competition was of an extremely high standard and hosted some of the country’s top gymnastics clubs, so for our girls to do so well makes us all very proud.”
Dave Lee, squad coach, added: “The girls all did really well and we have high hopes for the regional competition this month.”
Stafford GC, based at Astonfields, continues to grow, with more than 300 members joining up since October.
Despite being only three months old, four squad gymnasts also scooped medals at an international competition at the end of 2012.
The club will be looking to add to this at the forthcoming Regional Championships later this month.
At the Yate competition, Cara Hawkins, aged 13 and Freya Johnson, who is ten, just missed out on a medal when finishing fifth in the Grade 1 pairs with a fantastic score of 25.80.
Meanwhile, Hollie Kirkbride, aged 10 and Grace Miller, aged 9, came sixth in the Prep B category.
