Deevas got the ball into the circle early on but the Emeralds produced some good interceptions and grabbed an early lead.

Despite suffering a couple of injuries, Deevas held on and the teams moved into the final quarter on level terms.

The outcome was a 15-15 draw, with player of the match awards going to Kim Bott (Emeralds) and Natalie Joett (Deevas).

In another second division clash, Spittal Brook ran out worthy 30-17 winners over FMS Phoenix.
