STONE Hockey Club men’s third team were on the winning trail on Saturday, running out 2-1 victors over Streetly.

A well organised and controlled start by the Enson Lane side was highlighted by the power of Chris Stormant and Adam Keenan in midfield.
Stone’s first goal arrived as Keenan dashed into the D and won a short corner for a woeful stick tackle.
The corner was neatly worked and eventually it was evergreen Peter Darlington who obliged with the finishing touch.
Stone maintained their concentration on the ball, with Abas Comber driving his team forward, but Streetly were by no means out of it and home keeper Paul Wallace produced several fine saves.
The home side increased the lead when a great move from midfield involving Martin Boote and Darlington led to young Ben Calverly netting.
In the closing stages Streetly made for a tense last few minutes when grabbing a goal, but Stone held out for the win.
