CYCLING enthusiasts are reminded of the Stafford Road Club challenge ride this Sunday.

This annual event is open to all with riders having a choice of two routes, 48 or 67 miles. Both start and finish at Stafford Rugby Club, with maps available on the road club website.

Entry fee is £3 per rider, with refreshments available on return. There will be staggered starts to avoid one large group of riders on the road at any one time.

On the day, riders can sign on and then head off when they are ready in their own groups or tag along with others. Eight to 18 riders is the optimum number for safety.

“All you need to take part is a bike in good working order, helmet, a strong heart, legs and lungs and a little bit of determination,” said a club spokesman.
