Managers and coaches at the Evo-Stik NPL's 66 clubs are now choosing the season's top performers, while supporters are being asked to nominate the players who'll be short-listed for the prestigious Fans Player of the Year Award.

Polls close on February 28 and the focus is now on the supporters' accolade which is being organised by the Evo-Stik NPL's official Facebook group. Hednesford's Cheyenne Dunkley won the individual laurels last term.

Organisers say there are three ways for fans to ensure their candidates make this year's shortlist, via Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/The NPL, via Twitter to @TheNPL group using the Hashtag #NPLFPOTY and finally via email to nplpodcast@live.com Supporters have until 11.59pm on February 27 to make their nominations.

It was great to have representatives from the Staffordshire Newsletter and Stafford Falcons U8s as our guests at Marston Road on Saturday, for what turned out to be a very entertaining afternoon.

It appeared everyone had a great afternoon and I have received emails from the mascots and the Newsletter saying how much they enjoyed the afternoon.

Before the match all fans held a one minute applause in memory of Brian Bradbury, the former social club manager at SRFC. Although I knew of Brian, I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but I know he will be missed by many of the Boro faithful.
