STONE HC firsts were again involved in high scoring thriller at Enson Lane where they drew 6-6 with Warwick, in a Midland One clash.
Shortly after, Stone extended their lead with a powerful reverse hit strike into the roof of the net from player coach David Smith.
However, Warwick responded well and pulled one back from a short corner.
Two further first half goals from Matthew Ayling and captain Matt Holmes put Stone in a commanding position heading towards the break but Warwick slotted home another short corner right on half time to make it 4-2.
In the second half, Stone found themselves under increasing pressure as Warwick began to dominate possession and win countless short corners.
Ten minutes into the half, Warwick reduced Stone’s lead again but Laurence Bassett struck back soon after for the home side to restore their two goal advantage.
Despite having a player sin binned, Warwick exploited a defensive lapse from Stone to make it 5-4 before Stone responded when Smith clinically scored his second with another reverse hit shot to give his side some breathing space.
Tired legs meant that Stone were unable to keep the ball and for a second time in as many weeks they squandered a two goal lead at home.
In the final ten minutes, Warwick hit two late goals from short corners to earn a share of the spoils.
This Saturday, Stone visit third bottom Wolverhampton in a league fixture.
