CARIBBEAN cuisine, conversation and a convivial atmosphere is on the menu at a new lunch club in Stafford.
The Stafford Caribbean Community Group has launched a monthly get-together on the third Monday of each month.
The event, held at Stafford Salvation Army Headquarters, Faraday Road, includes the chance to socialise and hear from a variety of guest speakers as well as enjoying traditional Caribbean food and drink.
The club was the brainchild of Bev Daley, who returned to her home town of Stafford from London to care for her elderly mother.
"I found that there didn't seem to be any opportunities for her to get out and socialise with other people from a Caribbean background," Ms Daley said. "That's where the idea for the lunch club came from - people can come along to enjoy traditional Caribbean recipes and get together to reminisce.
"It is aimed mainly at the older generation, but anyone else who wants to come along is very welcome, and we can cater for all dietary needs.
The lunch club runs from 12noon to 3pm, and assistance getting to the venue is available. Details from Ms Daley on 07941 344045.
