STAFFORD residents are getting their teeth into conversation as well as Caribbean cuisine as a new lunch club launched in the town goes from strength to strength.

The Stafford Caribbean Community Group has launched a monthly get-together at Stafford Salvation Army Headquarters, Faraday Road.

It includes the chance to socialise, concerts by local musicians, and a variety of guest speakers, as well as a varied menu of traditional Caribbean food and drink.

The club was the brainchild of Bev Daley, who spotted a shortage of opportunities for older members of the community in particular to get together.

"It is aimed mainly at the older generations, but anyone else who wants to come along is very welcome, and we are getting a good response,” she said.

The club meets next on September 15, with further lunch dates on October 20 and November 17, plus a pre-Christmas lunch date on December 15.

The lunch club runs from 12noon to 3pm, and assistance getting to the venue is available. Details from Ms Daley on 07941 344045.
