STAFFORD Grammar School’s under-18 football team lifted the Stafford and District Schools’ football trophy for the second successive year in an all action display against Wolgarston High.
After a goalless first half Stafford Grammar took the lead in the 55th minute through Dan Nowell.
They added to their lead through Billy Thorley who latched on to a through ball from Harry Bowers.
“It was a really hard fought game against good Wolgarston opposition,” said Lee Harwood, the school’s head of sports.
“The work rate of both teams was fantastic, but we dominated possession for much of the game.
“I think the key to our success was the quality of our possession and play, which was superb.”
