STAFFORD Hospital administrators will face a grilling by county councillors at a special meeting next Monday to be broadcast live on the web.
The implications of the draft recommendations, published at the end of July, - which would see Stafford lose its maternity and in-patient paediatric services, emergency surgery and its critical care unit downgraded - will be scrutinised at a special meeting called by Staffordshire County Council.
And members of the Healthy Staffordshire Select Committee have requested the attendance of the hospital’s administrators at the meeting to answer questions from members on their proposals.
Chair of the committee, Kath Perry, said: “Over the coming weeks we will be looking at the detail of the TSA report and the proposals for both Stafford Hospital and Cannock Hospital.
“This special meeting has been called to allow us to question the administrators about the implications of the proposals not only for those residents who currently use the two hospitals, but for wider health economy in Staffordshire.”
The meeting, which will be held in public at the County Buildings in Martin Street at 9.30am on September 2 will be simultaneously broadcast live on the web at www.staffordshire.public-i.tv/core.
