STAFFORD Rangers under-16s had plenty to celebrate after turning out in their new kit against Paget Rangers on Sunday.
The Lichfield league outfit, who have just received new backing from Leon’s Coaches, ran out worthy 4-0 winners.
From the opening minute, Rangers totally dominated possession, with Connor Allcock and Oliver McCormick winning every ball at the back and starting Rangers passing game through midfield.
Joshua Price controlled the centre of midfield, and Charlie Revins tore Paget apart down the left flank, creating several scoring chances.
It was Revins who opened Boro’s account, creating the opportunity with a fine turn on the edge of the box, his cross-shot being deflected into the net.
Harley Roberts, who chased down everything, then made it 2-0, heading in a corner. With the second half 15 minutes old, Jason Wallings fired home from 20 yards to increase the Boro advantage.
Rangers continued to boss the match and they wrapped up the scoring through Ellis Liggins, after good work by Ben Douglas and Roberts.
In the Mid Staffs Junior League, Rangers Stripes U12s continued their early season form with a 4-2 success over Stafford Town Panthers.
Rangers took a 2-0 lead through Harvey Gomersall and Charlie Owen, who headed home a Billy Willday corner. Just before the break the Panthers reduced the deficit. In the second half, Joe Porter restored Rangers’ two goal advantage, before Owen struck his second of the game. Town netted a late second goal.
