STAFFORD Rangers manager Graham Heathcote has swooped to bring in three new signings ahead of Saturday's league trip to FC United of Manchester.
Joining the Marston Road ranks are former England C team midfielder Lewis Chalmers, who celebrated his 28th birthday this week, ex-Altrincham and Kidderminster winger Brian Smirkle, also aged 28, and left-sided defender Joe Ballinger (19) who has had spells at Solihull Moors and Redditch United.
Chalmers also began his career at Altrincham and spent some time with Macclesfield Town, before recently turning out for both FC United and Droylsden.
He has over ten England C caps and was part of the national side that won the Four Nations Tournament in 2008.
All three will be included in the Boro squad for tomororw's tough away fixture at FC United (3pm).
Rangers remain second bottom in the Evo-Stik Premier and currently 13 points off the safety zone after last weekend's disappointing 2-0 home defeat to fellow strugglers Frickley Athletic.
