STAFFORD Rangers’ new caretaker boss Andy Mutch will take charge of his first game this evening (Tuesday) when the Boro take on Marine in an Evo Stik premier game at Marston Road (7.45pm).
The former Wolves striker took over as the club’s interim manager on Monday after the sacking of Greg Clowes, who departed along with assistant Doz Garner and coach Mick Hathaway.
Mutch, who is keen on the Rangers job on a permanent basis, will hope to get off to a winning start, especially with the Boro currently bottom of the table after seven straight defeats.
Marine arrive at Marston Road with 11 points under their belt so far, including two victories on their travels, at Witton Albion (3-2) and Ilkeston (2-1). However, Marine suffered their first home defeat on Saturday, going down 2-0 against Buxton.
Next up for Rangers, and Mutch, is a tricky FA Cup first qualifying round tie at Staffordshire neighbours Chasetown on Saturday (3pm). Any replay would take place on September 17 (7.45pm).
