STAFFORD Rangers tenuous hold on Northern Premier football took another blow as promotion chasing FC United gave them a footballing lesson.
Rangers made two changes to the side that beat Matlock with Jack Lees and Jimmy McCarthy replacing Darren Bullock and Matthew Berkeley.
FCUM started at a tremendous pace and could have opened the devoting in the first minute, Levi Reid heading a Charlie Raglan effort off the line.
A calamitous back pass gave Tom Greaves the chance in the 7th minute and the leading scorer rounded Andrew Jones and fired home.
FCUM went close when Matty Wolfenden's goal bound effort was blocked by Lewis Chalmers.
Rangers first attack saw Lees force Dave Carnell into a save. Mike Norton should have done better with a free header.
Jones kept Rangers in it with a fine save from a deflected a Greaves' shot. FCUM continued to press but Jones stayed firm.
Greaves headed wide from a Jerome Wright cross and then saw a shot deflected for a corner. On the stroke of half-time, Liam Brownhill's corner was headed home by a Raglan.
Norton forced a Jones into another decent save with Woffinden's follow up blocked by Darren Bullock.
FCUM kept pressing but Brownhill and Greaves failed to convert their chances. The third goal came in the 59th minute, Wright played the ball inside to Greaves who curled a superb shot into the roof of the net. Rangers' Ian Craney tried a shot from just inside the FCUM half but Carnell back-pedalled to save.
The home side's fourth came courtesy of an excellent finish from Greg Daniels with outside of his right foot.
