STAFFORD Rangers cup tie at home to Port Vale has been postponed due to the state of the Marston Road pitch.

Rangers were due to face the Vale Park outfit in the quarter finals of the Staffordshire Senior Cup this evening (Tuesaday).

But, following a pitch inspection this morning, the game was called off. A new date has yet to be set by Staffs FA.

The Marston Road pitch was badly cut up during the league game against Blyth Spartans on Saturday, following heavy rain on the days leading up to the fixture and during the first half.

Rangers next scheduled match is away to fellow Evo-Stik league strugglers Stocksbridge Park Steels on Saturday (3pm).

The point collected by Boro in the 2-2 draw against Blyth enabled Graham Heathcote's men to draw level on points with Stocksbridge, although they have two games in hand on Rangers.
