A DEDICATED band of Stafford Rangers fans ensured a clean showing for the team’s first summer friendly match.

Supporters, armed with brooms, buckets and paintbrushes, teamed up with club secretary Mike Hughes last weekend to tidy up the Marston Road Ground.

There was also the opportunity for a sneak preview of the club’s new squad, who were training on Saturday.

Rangers will host their first friendly at home, against Leamington, on Saturday but the August 2 friendly away to Conway Borough has been cancelled. Instead Rangers will play Chester City at home, also on August 2, with kick off at 3pm.
