STAFFORD Rangers, fresh from a fine away win at Matlock Town on Saturday, will look to continue the good work tonight.

Rangers, who have won more away matches than the other three in the relegation bottom four, visit title-chasing Fc United of Manchester, at Gigg Lane (home of Bury FC), kick-off 7.45pm.

This is a re-arranged fixture for Graham Heathcote’s charges, the original date having fallen victim to the wet weather in early February.

Rangers pulled off a surprise 2-0 win at Matlock on Saturday, with goals from Andy Griffiths (penalty) and James M cCarthy. It was only the second home defeat of the season for Matlock.

Heathcote gave new keeper Andy Jones from Winsford his debut against Matlock, following the departure of Jon Brain.

The task facing Rangers this evening will be a tough one, with FC United having moved into the top five and now only six points off top spot with a game in hand.

However, Rangers have an opportunity to complete another league double, having defeated FC United 2-1 at Marston Road in September, a match that saw Boro chalk up their first league win of the season.
