STAFFORD Rangers' home league fixture against fellow strugglers Frickley Athletic will go ahead as scheduled today (Saturday) kick-off 3pm.

After steady rain throughout the day in the Stafford area on Friday, club officials organised an early pitch inspection of the Marston Road ground.

However, strong winds overnight and on Saturday morning have helped ease the situation and a club spokesman said: "The match is definitely on."

Rangers, under new boss Graham Heathcote, will be looking for a third win in four matches since the former Altrincham manager took charge at Stafford on January 3.

And should they pick up all three points aainst Frickley it will be a third successive home victory for the Boro.

They could also close the gap between themselves on the Evo-Stik Premier safety mark to nine points if other results go their way.
