A LOCAL cycling club is hosting a “come and try it” event on New Year’s Day.

The invite is from Stafford Road Club and those turning up can do so in fancy dress (optional).

Each year Stafford RC hosts such a time trial for cyclists based in and around Stafford.

First rider off is at 11am, but those wishing to take part should arrive from 10.30am onwards to sign in and register.

Full details of this event and the dozens of other time trials to be hosted by the club in 2014 can be found on Stafford RC’s website www.staffordrc.org.

“The New Year’s Day event has become more and more popular over the years and we often see fields of 50 riders take part, “ said club official Andrew Semple.

“It’s great to see so many riders of all abilities turn out, most of whom are just out for a bit of fun on their winter bikes and a few in some very imaginative fancy dress costumes too.”

Entry fee is set at £2/rider, under 18’s ride free, minimum age is 12 years.

Full details of this event, including a route map, plus lots more cycling events put on each year by Stafford Road Club can be found on the website or by email to webmail@staffordrc.org
