STAFFORD soroptimists travelled to Downing Street to hand a petition calling for an end to violence against women to the Prime Minister.

The members collected the petition in November in partnership with Staffordshire Women's Aid, during a candle-lit vigil in the town centre. The campaign then went to national level when all Soroptimist Clubs in Great Britain became involved in collecting signatures.

Stafford MP Jeremy Lefroy and Stone MP Bill Cash also joined the Soroptimists to hand over the 4,296-signature petition.
