Stafford Town 5 Bromsgrove Sporting 3

Stafford Town were celebrating big time on Saturday after securing a place in the final of this season's Les James Challenge Cup.

They took on title-chasing Midland Combination Premier rivals Bromsgrove Sporting in the last four at Evans Park and hit back to win an eight goal thriller.

Town took an early lead through Morgan Hurley, before Bromsgrove, who had a player sent-off in the first half, struck back to lead 3-1.

But the Reds showed tremendous battling qualities and levelled the scores in the second half.

Although they too had a player dismissed, Town kept plugging away and netted twice more in the second period to clinch their place in the final.

Town will now face Atherstone Town in the final in May at Walsall FC's Bescot Stadium. The Reds will hope to emulate local rivals Brocton who won the trophy last season at the same stadium.
