STAFFORD Town conceded their second defeat in six days following their unbeaten start to the season.
The first half was very scrappy affair but the home side had the bulk of the possession and after nine minutes they nearly made their possession count when Matt Poyner had a free kick saved by Barry Weston.
Just five minutes later the home side took the lead when Poyner scored from 30 yards, then after 25 minutes they were two goals in front when Jacob Snape ran through Town’s defence to score with a shot which went in off the post despite Town’s defenders claiming the ball had not crossed the line.
As the home side eased up Town began to have a bit more possession and in the 34th minute Jason Cunningham’s shot flew just over the bar.
Steve Hopkinson came on at half time and Town began to play much better, after 50 minutes Morgan Hurley’s cross was headed wide of the open goal by Darryll Johns.
A few minutes later Johns was put through on goal again but shot tamely at Jake Bedford in the home goal.
Town reduced the deficit in the 68th minute when Hurley’s shot hit the post but he scored the rebound from a narrow angle.
The home side then stepped up their game and after 75 minutes Snape’s cross found Brett Mander but Weston saved well.
Bromsgrove clinched the points 12 minutes from time when Snape superbly volleyed a cross into the net giving Weston no chance.
